Mask use within our health centers is not mandated. However, if you would like our staff to wear a mask during your visit, let us know. If you cannot attend your scheduled appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so we can make your appointment available to another person in need.

We’re unable to provide childcare at our health center. For safety reasons children need to be accompanied by an adult when they’re in the waiting room. Only infants can accompany you to the exam room. Please bring a friend or family member to be with your children if you don’t have childcare at home.

You can fill your birth control prescriptions at our health center instead of the pharmacy. Birth control refills are available during regular business hours.

You can come to us for services that don’t require a medical exam. For example, birth control education and supplies; emergency contraception (AKA the morning after pill); pregnancy testing and counseling; STD testing, and testing and treatments for urinary tract infections.

We open at 11:30 AM on the 4th Friday of each month.

If you need emergency contraception (AKA the morning after pill), you can walk in anytime we’re open.

You are welcome to walk in any time the Health Center is open to make an appointment or see if there is a same day appointment available. If you have the time to wait, we will make every effort to fit you in the same day. If we can’t see you, we will give you the first priority appointment available.

If you have an unplanned pregnancy and would like to speak with a doctor about your options, please contact us. Our physicians can complete an evaluation of you and your pregnancy, which may include an in person visit, ultrasound, and/or telemedicine visit. We offer in-person visits on O’ahu and telemedicine services throughout Hawai’i and Guam. We provide the full-range of pregnancy options, including prenatal care, abortion, and assistance with finding adoption resources. Your visit will include a discussion of these options and a chance for you to ask questions. We support you fully and are proud to provide care for whatever choice you make.

Our physicians are faculty at the John A Burns School of Medicine who have special expertise in family planning (contraception and abortion care) and are also experienced in caring for young people and people with complex medical conditions. The Women’s Option Center also offers the full-range of contraceptive (birth control) options. We see patients with most types of insurance and have office hours Monday-Thursday, with abortion services offered several times throughout the week.

If you are involved in a child custody case, child support case, or need to have documented proof that you are the father of a child for wills or social security benefits, a paternity test from a reliable office will provide you with court admissible documents that you will be able to use.

Paternity tests are over 99% accurate, which allows you to eliminate any doubts as to whether or not a child is truly yours. These tests only take a few minutes in the office. When you come in for a paternity test you will provide a sample of your saliva. This is obtained by gently swabbing the inside of your cheek with a cotton swab.

The cells from inside your cheek will provide a result that is just as accurate as using blood samples. The cheek swab is much less painful as there are no needles required.

In some cases the alleged father may not be available for testing. This is not a problem as any member of his family can be tested including cousins, siblings, parents, aunts and uncles.
