Her style of cooking is Hawaii Regional Cuisine, and it was her grandfather Mario Cordero, Sr. who inspired her to become a chef. Mae has a long history with BASALT’s former Executive Chef Keith Steel Kong, who was her mentor at Duke’s Waikiki for more than ten years.

Join The Art Kalahiki Band every Friday from 5:30pm to 8:30pm and enjoy fireworks from across the bay at 8pm! We have plenty of seating but you can also bring your beach chairs and blankets and set-up on the Waikiki lawn!

For amazing ambiance on the beach with oceanfront, park and city skyline views, Waikiki’s Barefoot Beach Café is the perfect spot for your wedding, corporate and social events!

As of September 2022, we require a buyout of our oceanfront lanai for all onsite events with a rental fee of $1,500 (up to three hours of service) plus a catering minimum of $6,000 which can include coordination fee, food, beverage, styled settings, in-house florals/décor, rentals and additional staffing.

Our location in the heart of Waikiki is a three-story oasis where you’ll find a farm-to-table restaurant, a gorgeous living wall of herbs and tropical plant life, and an open-air rooftop complete with sand, a fire pit, live music, and a stunning view of Honolulu. Reservations are highly recommended, but walk-ins are welcome.
