He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, as approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties. Dr. D has participated in many community health projects with the American Cancer Society, involving prevention, diagnosis and treatment of skin cancers. Dr. Dieffenbach has traveled to the Philippines with the Aloha Medical Mission, where he treated children with birth defects such as cleft lips, and adults with burn deformities and large tumors. In addition, Dr. Peterson has completed advanced specialty training in Japan and China. He has been the Chief of Plastic Surgery at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children for many years.
